52 years ago the United States went off the gold standard. Only twice during the last 100 years has the US not been able to pay it’s debts in gold.
Executive Order 6102 is an executive order signed on April 5, 1933, by US President Franklin D. Roosevelt "forbidding the hoarding of gold coin, gold bullion, and gold certificates within the continental United States."
The Nixon shock was a series of economic measures undertaken by United States President Richard Nixon in 1971, in response to increasing inflation, the most significant of which were wage and price freezes, surcharges on imports, and the unilateral cancellation of the direct international convertibility of the United States dollar to gold.
Gold like Bitcoin is based on Proof of Work. 40 years ago I started working at our local hospital helping doctors and nurses communicate easier, but I did’t understand the Bretton Wood System other wise I would have stored most of my earnings in gold. If you look at WTF Happend in 1971 you will see lots of charts showing how removing truth from money has lots of unintended consequences. When money becomes not based on “proof of work” or scarcity, people who are savers get the rug pulled out from under them. France didn’t get it’s gold at $35 / ounce back in 1965 and west Germany and Switzerland left the Bretton Wood System in 1971.
Because money makes up 1/2 of every transaction it is important to not be expanding the M2 money supply without informing your population about your scheme to debase the dollar and cause inflation.
Bitcoin is better than gold because all bitcoin nodes (after you download the blockchain) can tell you how many bitcoin there are and who owns them. If this could have been done with gold in 1971 Richard couldn’t have gotten away with debasing the US dollar. Can you imaging buying meat for less that a dollar a pound? This is why I converted my job skills into helping 1/2 of every transaction to be truthful.
Let’s make truth part of your daily transactions.
